Local partnerships
Community is at the heart of everything we do at St Mary Mags. As a church, we believe we are called to love our neighbours, build meaningful friendships, and create a place where everyone feels welcomed and can belong.
We recognise that the strongest communities are built through collaboration, which is why we work closely with a range of local partners. We value these long-term partnerships, not as one-off arrangements but as genuine relationships built on trust and shared purpose.
From schools and charities, to neighbouring churches, each partnership brings something different, and we learn as much from them as we hope they gain from us. Working in this way means we can reach further, listen better, and respond more effectively to those around us. Ultimately, we believe that no single organisation can do this work alone, it’s through these connections that lasting, positive change happens, both within our church and across the wider community we serve.
Grand Junction
Grand Junction is a venue for arts, culture, and community, based at St Mary Mags Church. Working closely together to support the local community. Grand Junction creates and presents an eclectic programme of music, arts, and heritage events for young people, families, and adults alike. Alongside this, there's a café serving delicious food with lovely views over the canal, plus a variety of meeting and event spaces available for hire, making it a welcoming hub for people to gather, create, and connect.
St Mary’s London
St Mary's London is a vibrant church in Marylebone. Kirstine spent fourteen years on the staff team there before joining St Mags. The two churches share a commitment to building a local partnership rooted in friendship, with a focus on learning together, working on joint projects, pooling resources, and supporting one another's communities. St Mary's is led by Rev John Peters and is shaped by four core values: Ministry in the Power of the Spirit, Intelligent Evangelism, Interculturalism, and Inclusion.
St Mary Magdalene Primary School
We have a strong relationship with our parish primary school, St Mary Magdalene's and St Stephen's. The school sits at the heart of a vibrant, multicultural community and inspires children not only to learn but to grow in confidence and pursue their passions. It is grounded in Christian values, with the vision "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) at its foundation. St Mary Magdalene Music Socitey
Founded in 1962, the Society has become known for its originality, with a particular focus on French music, much of it rarely performed in this country. Each year on All Souls' Day, its choir and orchestra perform a French Requiem within a Solemn Mass. The Society is also committed to nurturing young talent, maintaining a longstanding link with Sussex House School, Chelsea. Hosted at St Mary Mags, the Music Society has carved out a distinctive place in London's musical life.
